Fitness Motivation

Motivating oneself for fitness isn’t as easy for some of us as it is for others. I happen to fall in the group that needs a little extra push when it comes to fitness motivation! I have little tricks I use, such as buying a new bikini or searching Pinterest for “fitspo.” While these always seem to help, this week I decided to take a more solid approach to fitness! I registered for my first 5K!

Completing a 5K has been on my bucket list for some time, but I’ve never really attempted, and certainly never registered for one before! I know it will be challenging, but it will be a new and exciting challenge for me to try! I’m looking forward to a stable fitness routine and improving overall health.

I am a couple months out from the event, so that gives me plenty of time to raise money for the amazing cause, which is benefiting a cancer foundation. I’m hoping, no matter how big or small, to make a difference! I will be posting more about my 5K journey along the way! 2.5 months to go!

Isagenix Update

My last post outlined my progress with the Isagenix program. Before my two day deep cleanse I was down 4lbs in 6 days, which I was happy with given the short amount of time I had been on the program. The two day cleanse- which is very detailed and scheduled was not nearly as hard as I had anticipated! I was quite surprised with the manageability of the cleanse days. Don’t get me wrong- I missed the shakes, and the solid meal, but I truly did not feel that hungry after drinking the cleanse drink, and having the allowed snacks.

The morning of day 8 on the program, my cleanse days were over  and I was able to make my first Isagenix shake in over 48 hours. Before doing so, I weighed myself and took my day 8 measurements. I was thrilled with the results. In just 8 days on the program I was down 8lbs and 16 inches! What a way to end the first week! This was in combination with exercising 3 days a week. So far I couldn’t be happier with the results and can’t wait to see how I progress. Will post updates as they come. Cheers!

Isagenix program

With the start of the New Year I decided to really try to stick to a weight loss plan. I wanted something to aid me in losing 25/35lbs. I had a few friends recommend Isagenix, a shake meal replacement plan with dietary supplements and healthy food habits. I did some research, talked to the consultant, and thought about it a little more. I decided to go ahead and order the product! Nothing else was really working and my willpower was deeply drained. I really needed a change.

The program was shipped to me only two short days after I ordered it. So far, I  have been on Isagenix for less than a week, and I’m already feeling better. As of a few days ago (the last time I weighed myself) I was down over 3 pounds! What really surprises me is that I haven’t even been super hungry, which is great. The shakes taste good and really keep me full for a few hours after drinking them!

Tomorrow starts my first cleanse day on the program so I plan to update later on in the week, but so far I am really happy with my choice to start this lifestyle change and can’t wait to see how it continues!

Resolutions: 2017

Happy New Year! Now that the holiday festivities are over and the new year has begun, there is a feeling of excitement and opportunity in the air. Especially for upcoming change and self improvement. This time of the year is perfect for seizing new opportunities and really working on becoming the best version of you. There’s a couple of resolutions I want to really work at this year!

Focus on a healthier me. Weight loss is something I am going to work hard for in 2017-but more importantly improving overall with better health and fitness habits. I don’t just want to limit calories and call it a day. I want improve health and wellness by finding a great balance between diet and exercise! I’ll try to catalog some new workouts and routines on here too- and maybe some healthy recipes if I’m feeling really ambitious!

Work more and work harder. I think that there’s always something more I could be doing or improving. This year I want to reach for the stars. There truly is no limit in my mind for working hard and beginning new projects.

Let’s make 2017 a year to accomplish!

Seattle Travel Spots

This November I visited Seattle for the first time and it did not disappoint. The city was beautiful, friendly, and simply awesome. There’s a few destinations I recommend for the Seattle-bound traveler.

seattlemarket

1- Pike Place Market is a must!  Not just for the fish market or singing, but for the FOOD in general. This was also a great place to grab some souvenirs. A short stroll down from the market is the beautiful waterfront with more restaurants and shops. We had a great meal along the water.

2-Columbia Center Sky View Observatory was definitely a highlight of the trip.  The 360 degree views of the city were breathtaking. Not only could you sit back and enjoy the view, but you could purchase a beer and snack while doing so!

3- The Underground tour was super cool. For those not scared to venture under the city of Seattle into pre-existing streets and buildings, then this is for you! History with a twist. Our tour took place around 6 or 7 p.m. but I was told that the later tours are a lot of fun as well. I highly recommend it!

Those are my travel to Seattle tips! Have fun in the Emerald City travelers!
